Shahid Mohammad Montazeri Power Plant
Shahid Mohammad Montazeri Power Plant is one of the electricity generation centers in Iran, especially in the Isfahan province. This power plant began its operations in 1984 with the commissioning of its first unit, and in 1998, it launched its second phase with the startup of unit 5. Montazeri Power Plant has a nominal capacity of 1616 megawatts. Some of the notable features of this power plant include the complete elimination of the use of mazut in 2014, the creation of over 3.5 million square meters of green space, the installation of the online continuous environmental monitoring system, the receipt of the Silver Plaque of Green Industry in 2016, and the implementation of a novel wastewater treatment method. These measures demonstrate our particular attention to environmental issues and sustainability. In the future, we intend to convert it to a combined-cycle configuration, which will involve increasing its nominal capacity while decreasing natural gas consumption. This project will effectively contribute to overcoming the energy deficit in the country.
